Thomas Mother Trucking Jefferson

I follow politics semi-avidly.
A little more than most, but not as fervent as some.
I hope to rectify that in 2010.
There are so many paramount issues facing the U.S.A. these days.
For too long the political powers that be have counted on, and enjoyed, the apathy of the American public.
We are such a self involved society.
Too easily beaten by the divide and conquer status quo politics.

Are you a Democrat? A Republican? Conservative? Liberal? Progressive?

While we’re busy squabbling over who is who and what’s what nothing gets done.

I will attempt to bring my brand of politics to this site with whatever is sparking my applause or ire in the political arena. I tend to be left of center, for sure, but I hold no allegiances.

I consider myself a political progressive. I believe that we have to look forward.

Obviously, health care is the current political wildfire. It’s quite the show. And, to me, clearly indicative of how the monied in our civilization, the oligarchy, can control the politicians, the media and, unfortunately, the unsuspecting public.

Why is it that most of the economically advanced societies in the world can offer a “public option” for health care but for the U.S. it’s tantamount to converting to Stalinism? Social-Capitalism is not Socialism. And, for the record, we have had socialist policies in place since our founding. Public schools, highways, etc.
Nope this is all Wall St. based. Big Pharm and all of their elected goons are pulling yet another fast one on the vast majority of U.S. citizens.

Such a fearful society.
Prone to knee-jerk reactionism.
Get tough!
And get in touch with your representatives!
