Grohl, Homme, and Jones from Them Crooked Vultures
Dave Grohl never ceases to amaze me.
Being at a tender enough age to be completely blown away by Nirvana in 1991, I, of course, have a great affection for Mr. Grohl and his amazingly powerful percussion.
He’s also been one of the more fun famous musicians. Once he got Foo Fighters fully underway his sense of humor has always been present throughout their videos and his press offerings. He’s always been one that, on the surface, has not appeared to let fame get to his head.
I have always enjoyed his many contributions in the music universe: Tenacious D, QOTSA, and even his homage to all things inspirational in metal, Probot.
This offering is just plain and simple a great little album. Fun to rock out to. It’s kind of like Zep blendered with Homme’s other side project, The Eagles of Death Metal, but driven, very signaturely, by M. Grohl.
Check it out. Definitely.
