What a tragic legacy Sen. Joe Lieberman is going to leave.
Failed Vice-presidential bid (I always thought he doomed the ticket myself).
Losing his Democratic primary in 2006, but then winning re-election as an Independent?
Campaigning for McCain in the ‘08 presidential campaign?
Speaking at the ‘08 Republican National Convention?
Now he’s making his living being the official stick in the mud in regards to the public option of health care reform.
After being such a political joke for so many years, Lieberman is relishing his spoiler role.
His claim is he believes it’s wrong for the US government to get involved in the health care business.
That’s the whole enchilada there.
That business is epic fail!
The private sector is crippling the country. The entire country.
Torpedoing businesses.
Essentially running protection rackets on all of their customers.
Pushing drugs on our populace. (Watch one hour of network teevee and count the drug commercials.)
Failing at the basic concept of their industry. Health.
We are an incredibly unhealthy nation.
On the flip side, we are the only modern, industrialized nation without public healthcare.
Why is that?
It’s the influence of the top 1%. The ubiquitous “they”. 90% of our nation’s wealth is controlled by 1% of the population.
“We are filthy rich and we want to be filthier and richer!”
Well, they are sinking the US. And Sen. Lieberman is their gleeful poster boy/mouthpiece with his fingers on the torpedo fire-control.
It’s taking every effort imaginable to try and stimulate this economy from the disastrous policies of the previous administration.
Yet, we are making progress.
But it will all be for naught if health care reform is tacit, at best.
Congratulations, Sen. Lieberman!
Your legacy is you personally hammered nails in the American coffin.
What a waste of service to this country.
My message to Joe:
Your obstructionist stance in the health care debate is truly un-American. I know you’re enjoying your new found power, Mr. Lieberman, but it’s absolutely ludicrous that the US is the only modern industrialized nation without public health care. The government should not be in that business? Why? France, Germany, Belgium and Japan (and many others) can have a social security type public health care, but we can’t? Oh, and they have capitalism as well. Loads of it. You don’t serve the American people. You serve your masters on Wall St. You, sir, are a disgrace to your office.
