I have always been encouraged to write.

So… here I go. This is just the baby steps. I’m just trying to get the hang of wordpress and of blogging in general.
I’m not sure where this will lead. I have many passions in life. I have way too many opinions in life. I have had some pretty interesting experiences in life. I guess I hope to mesh passion, opinion and experience into something that will be cathartic for me and, maybe, useful and entertaining for the epublic. At the very least the cathartic part, heh.

I know that I have sure as heck spent an awful amount of time arguing on the intrawebz for my own enjoyment. I might as well do it in my own space. Throw up a few ads and see what transpires.

Why Savant Garde? Umm… I don’t know, cuz it’s such a cool name? The name is actually from a character I created on the Infinity server of the MMORPG City of Heroes/Villains.
I’ve always loved the name. It’s probably the best character name I have ever come up with. Obviously there is the whole double entendre with the name.
Savant meaning “one who knows” and Avant Garde meaning, essentially, “on the cutting edge”.
Why not use it as the domain name? It pretty much sums up what I will attempt to communicate.
Cutting edge knowledge.
Dropping science.
I hope to make y’all laugh as well.

I plan on rocking this blog out, but I’m not quite sure how to just yet.

I’ve messed around with the free blog on wordpress.com for a little bit. But I want this one to be more comprehensive.

From my cursory research of what is attracting traffic in the upper echelon of the blogoshpere it’s gossip and politics. No surprise there, I guess. I’m a little disappointed that gaming does not register, and sports barely registers. Kind of trippy as there are so many visitors to espn.com and so many millions of subscribers to games like WoW.

I’m hoping not to take this down rant avenue. I’d like to be positive. Heh… I need some positivity.

But my plan is to write. Whatever inspires. Write about that. Write, write and write some more.

I’ve definitely been called long-winded in my time. Here’s to hoping I can be as prolific literally as I am verbally.

What interests me? Well… just about everything. But, for now, I’m going to stick to just a few categories. Sports, politics,  food, and a general mish mash of current events.

I’m just here for the chicks. (Chicks dig bloggers!)
